Hey! Save the date darling, I'm getting married this year. His family came over and agreed for our marriage, my best friend excitedly told me. Wow, what a heartfelt feeling babe, congratulations! I'm coming over to see you in an hour, I can't wait, I screamed in enthusiasm. The girl was on cloud nine as her dream was about to come true. As best friends met she started telling everything about both families' rendezvous at the cafe and their agreement for the engagement and wedding. Eventually, the dates were also decided. Soon,the wedding preparations started as the wedding date was near and had so much work to be done from booking banquet hall, making list of guests, food, dresses, and other miscellaneous items, choosing and printing of wedding cards, to buying clothes, jewellery, sandals, make-up items. Teachers had always been an inspiration, pillars of faith and supporters from level Primary till the time I completed my education and even after. The term ' Teacher' is not restricted with the people who you meet in your school ,colleges or in educational institutes but it is actually associated with anyone and everyone from whom you learn even small lessons in your life and they could be your parents, friends, relatives or even neighbors. One day I was going through a street with my mom when suddenly she asked a few kids playing on street to stand up in a queue. I was wondering why she has stopped and why is she even talking to them. She asked a few questions to all those 12 kids standing there. * Names of the little kiddos. * Are they attending any school? * Do they like studying? * Do they want to learn new things? * Will they come to our home to study? I heard my name while sleeping and jumped out of the bed immediately unlike other days because the day has got something very special which is known to be our independence day . I just got up rubbing my eyes, took bath and mumma dressed me up in a beautiful pink frock. Wow! The day is special because we go to school, meet our friends, attend program and get sweets but need not to dress in a boring white shirt and blue tunic. I geared up towards the school with my father, he dropped me at the school gate where he was instructed to receive me back at 1:30 pm as school transport wasn't available that day. The day automatically became cherishable. Met my friends , enjoyed the program which included performance of students on patriotic songs, a group of few seniors presented a skit where they showcased the gist of history of how we were being ruled by Britishers, how efforts were made by our forefathers to present us the biggest gift which is freedom and how we got independence . Umm.. what are you wearing on farewell? Saree , hell yeah, I am going to wear saree for the first time. Me and friends were too busy with our externals, board preparations and shopping. Last day in the school was fun.Farewell is always a blend of mixed feelings where you can see happy faces with tears embedded on eyes, Board exams ended and now is the time to say Goodbye to old friends and start a fresh life. Everyone promised to keep in touch which started to fade away with time. Now, the time was to get enrolled in their dream colleges for further studies and to bid for a flourishing and successful person. Entering into college was entirely a different phase, new place, new people, new friends and new start of the life. Session began with introduction to each other and seniors. Fresher party was thrown by seniors and everyone began to strike up with others more closely. Sitting on my couch, switching channels from Music to movies to news when suddenly my eyes stuck to a news channel which was showing a news related to some Demonstration between people belonging to two different religions over some inter-religion marriage where number of innocents were killed and injured. My jaws hit the floor in grief. Alas! who is responsible for all this? Why is it all happening?Why are they wrangling and killing each other? Is INDIA still the same? A number of questions crossed my mind. As I switched to other news channels, I could see no peaceful news but only violent citizens full of hatred and aggression killing, looting, raping, each other over teething problems. I went clueless, and the cold had numbed my senses. I started questioning myself that Am I still in the same country or Is INDIA still the same where I was born and brought up? As I woke up the other day, I immediately open my phone to check the time. I was little late for the office, I wished my parents " Good Morning" through message who were in the room adjacent to mine. After that I rushed to the washroom with my office clothes, got ready and left hurriedly saying goodbye to them who were waiting for me at the breakfast but I was running short of time. My office cab was already at the door blowing horn which ruptured ear drum of the people of my colony. I rushed to the cab,wishing others a very good morning and jumped to my favorite corner seat.
