Impact of Social Media

As I woke up the other day, I immediately open my phone to check the time. I was little late for the office, I wished my parents " Good Morning" through message who were in the room adjacent to mine. After that I rushed to the washroom with my office clothes, got ready and left hurriedly saying goodbye to them who were waiting for me at the breakfast but I was running short of time.

My office cab was already at the door blowing horn which ruptured ear drum of the people of my colony. I rushed to the cab, wishing others a very good morning and jumped to my favorite corner seat. I took out my phone from my bag, put on the ear plugs, set the music high and started browsing my Facebook Feed where I got to know about my Friend's personal yet social life.

As I browse more , I reached to other feeds which was about the current political scenario where common people were fighting on the issue , abusing each other and then suddenly I saw it's my Junior champ's birthday. oh God! How can I forget. Thank God to Social Media I sighed in relief.
Since, it was an hour journey and I still had time left so I switched to Instagram where I saw the latest pics of the people whom I didn't talk in the whole decade. Switching to YouTube was fun as I was enjoying Rihanna and Ed Shereen before reaching my workplace.

Moving towards my seat I greeted everyone on the way, Switched on my computer and started with previous day's pending work and other work, attended meeting, had lunch and went back to work.
Past dusk, I rushed towards my cab and jumped to my favorite seat again, put my ear plugs which let me forget about all the pain and tiredness. Now, On the way back to home I purchased a birthday cake for my li'l champ and sat in the cab, started surfing through Facebook to Instagram to YouTube by the time I reached home. what a great time-pass and high impact of social media in our lives.

I greeted my parents and younger brother with the birthday cake and moved to my room as the day was tiring , changed my clothes and laid down where my mom brought me dinner and slept after having it. It was my everyday routine and I used to sleep till sun enters inside my room on Sundays.

As the days were passing like hours and years were passing like months.
Fortunately, One week I had three days off in a row and I spent quite a long time with my family only when I realized that my parents are getting older, younger champ has grown up and his board exams are approaching.

After spending a few hours with family I got to know about some more happenings in the family. we had dinner together after a long time which felt like heaven. After this, I helped my mom in doing utensils and cleaning of the kitchen. That night when I went to bed and felt that I was following everyone's life on social media but didn't follow my own family and was ignorant about their health, their desires, their expectations and didn't care about their happiness which was a cruel side of mine unintentionally and it proved to be a negative impact of social media somehow in our lives.

Social media let you peep in everyone's life and make you forget about your real people's life and happiness. Do not let it spoil your happiness and steal some time out of busy schedule for your family. Your parents are getting older and children are becoming young. Real time happiness is your own people and not the ones who don't even care and bother about you and will never get back to you when you need them. Your people are real wealth and prosperity.
